U.S. ARMY

The U.S. Army is made up of the most dedicated, most respected soldiers in the world. These soldiers protect America's Freedoms while serving at home and abroad, and they are always prepared to defend the nation in times of need.

U.S. MARINES

We are soldiers of the sea, providing forces and detachments to naval ships and shore operations. We are global leaders, developing expeditionary doctrine and innovations that set the example, and leading other countries' forces and agencies in the multinational military operations. These unique capabilities make us "First to Fight", and our nations first line of defense.

U.S. NAVY

America's Navy is a force as relevant today as it's been historically significan for the last 238 years. The times may change, the threats may become more obscure, the complex nature of 21st century life may make the demand for such presence less obvious. However, now more than ever, the Navy is something to be aware of Something to be thankful for. Something to be proud of.

WELCOME TO POST 4993

Hamilton County VFW Post 4993
If you’ve served our country overseas, you already share something with us that’s hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t been there. It’s a bond built through service, sacrifice, and the experiences we carry with us long after we come home.
The VFW is more than an organization. It's a brotherhood. It's family. It’s a place where veterans can stay connected, support one another, and continue serving the people and communities around us.
Here at the Hamilton County VFW, we believe that our service doesn’t end when we take off the uniform. We continue that service by helping veterans and their families, honoring those who came before us, supporting our local community, and making sure the next generation understands the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy.
Whether you served in Korea, the Persian Gulf, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, or another overseas mission, you have a place here.

OUR MISSION

Hamilton County VFW Post 4993

Our mission is simple: Veterans serving veterans, serving our communities, and honoring those who served before us.

Hamilton County VFW Post 4993 is committed to fostering the brotherhood and camaraderie that comes from serving our country, while making sure no veteran feels forgotten or left behind.
We will stand beside our veterans and their families, help connect them with the benefits and resources they have earned, and advocate for the recognition and respect they deserve.
But our mission doesn't stop with veterans.
We are committed to serving the communities of Hamilton County, supporting local families, helping those in need, caring for our veterans' memorials, honoring our flag, and being there when our neighbors need a helping hand.
We believe in investing in our youth by supporting schools, youth sports, mentoring programs, scholarships, and opportunities that help young people become responsible, respectful, and engaged members of their communities.
We will remember and honor the sacrifices of those who served before us, while teaching the next generation why that service matters.
Above all, we believe that service is not something that ends when the uniform comes off.
It simply takes a different form.
We served our country then.
We serve our community now.
And we will continue serving wherever we are needed.

OUR COMMITMENT

Veterans. Families. Youth. Community. Country.

We will put service before ourselves, treat those we serve with dignity and respect, honor the sacrifices of our military families, and work together to make Hamilton County a stronger community.

That is the mission of Hamilton County VFW Post 4993.

IN-COUNTRY

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.

There is a new cartoon everyday.
